Psychological Solutions researches soft toys for The Disney Store.

As part of its continuing commitment to the best in education, The Disney Store commissioned Psychological Solutions to investigate the importance of soft toys in children's development.
The study showed that soft toys can be central to the development and maintenance of mother-child relationships, particularly in those situations where mothers are working. Despite the anecdotal view that working mothers may be prone to buy more soft toys in order to assuage separation anxieties, there is clear evidence that the presence of large numbers of toys in children's environment may enhance the quality of carer-child relationships and may also accelerate their intellectual development.
The research also revealed that soft toys may have a positive part to play in the development of children's social and cognitive skills. For example, the linkage made between Disney films, toys and books may well engage children's interest in reading and help to improve their literacy skills.
